As Deng (2016) pointed out, the previous generation seems to label every new generation with negative judgments. For today's young people, whether born in the 1990s or the 2000s, so many negative intergenerational labels have also been attached to them. For instance, procrastination master blames contemporary youth for putting things off and Buddhist youth, which originally refers to the young people who pursue a peaceful and ordinary lifestyle in the fast-paced urban life, has been used to criticize contemporary youth for inaction in recent years. Some extreme people even made an indiscreet comment that China's future is hardly better in the hands of this generation. Is contemporary Chinese youth really so deplorable? The answer, of course, is negative. It is no exaggeration to say that contemporary Chinese youth is a generation of prospect. These biased labels and comments can not obscure the light of this generation. Chinese youth in the new era exactly proved themselves as a generation of prospect by showing their innovation and responsibility.

Contemporary Chinese youth continually aid impetus into China's innovation through devoting themselves to entrepreneurship in emerging fields and exploring in science and technology . Just as Wei feng (2020) presented, young people are the new driving force of scientific and technological innovation. Contemporary Chinese youth acquire plenty of opportunities to promote their capacity of innovation, and they do actually promote the development of science and technology in China. First of all, young people are actively engaged in entrepreneurship which involves a variety of emerging fields. According to Deng (2022), since 2014, China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has been held for 8 consecutive sessions, attracting more than 480,000 youth entrepreneurship teams and 2.09 million young entrepreneurs. The entries cover many fields, including big data, artificial intelligence, efficient agriculture, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine and so on. The number of participants is quite large and most of the entries are on the cutting edge of science and technology which indicates that contemporary Chinese youth possess a very strong enthusiasm for innovation. Moreover, contemporary Chinese youth have also achieved excellent results in entrepreneurship in these fields. For instance, Yang Mingping, who is awarded one of the 30 entrepreneurs under 30 in China by Forbes, founded “Super Classroom” as early as 2010 to provide online interactive learning courses for students. Shu Yi started her business at the age of 19 and founded one of China's first blog websites. In her third venture, she founded Chengdu Limei Advertising Limited Liability Company, which later developed into one of the largest professional online advertising companies in western China.

Secondly, contemporary Chinese youth also devote themselves to the field of science and technology, promoting the progress of science and technology in China. Zhu Bowen creatively proposed how to improve solar panels to improve photovoltaic conversion rates in college. Wang Yalong and his team redesigned and improved the load and delivery equipment on the basis of the existing aircraft, and won the championship of SAE International Aeronautical Design Competition. Lilac Student Micro-nano Satellite team of Harbin Institute of Technology is a multidisciplinary undergraduate team. The team has developed and launched the "Lilac 1" and "Lilac 2" satellites, and participated in the development of the "Longjiang" lunar probe microsatellite, the "Zhuhai 1" constellation and E Star, a new technology test satellite. Whether they are rookies on the road of entrepreneurship, or explorers who constantly learn and explore in the field of science and technology, they are just the epitome of countless Chinese young people who are constantly innovating. Young people continue to display their talents and achieve good results in entrepreneurship and science and technology which confirms that contemporary Chinese youth is a generation of innovation and constantly promotes the development of science and technology in China.

As president Xi pointed out, Chinese young people have proved through their actions that Chinese youth in the new era are excellent and worthy of great responsibility. Contemporary Chinese youth are also a responsible generation. Especially in recent years, Chinese young people have showed a stronger sense of accountability. According to Ding Xiangyang (2020), the deputy Secretary-General of The State Council, the number of people born in the 1990s and 2000s in the medical team to help Hubei, the place of outbreak of COVID-19 in China, is around 12,000, almost one third of the whole team. Whether they are the medical workers born in the 1990s who are working on the front lines of fighting COVID-19, or the young people who are working as volunteers, they linked the fate of individual to that of nation and are all brave and responsible when the motherland needs them. It is quite laudable for Chinese youth who stood up to the crisis regardless of self-comfort.

In addition to the responsibility of young people during the pandemic, contemporary Chinese youth also shoulder responsibility and accountability in other fields. In poverty alleviation, take Huang Wenxiu as an example. After graduation from Beijing Normal University, Huang Wenxiu returned to work as secretary of the Baini village in Guangxi Province. She introduced advanced sugar orange planting technology for the village, and led the village to join the e-commerce team. Under her leadership, a total of 88 households in the village, that is 418 villagers, have been lifted out of poverty in just one year. In terms of international events, the 94% of volunteers of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are youth under the age of 35 and 84% of them are college students. They patiently and warmly helped the audience from different countries to check in the tickets, carried out relevant communication in multiple languages, took charge of venue cleaning and so on. They showed the world Chinese youth are energetic, capable and responsible. Just contrary to what is said about inaction, whether it's epidemic prevention and control, poverty alleviation, or international event, Chinese youth are playing an increasingly important role and taking on more responsibilities in these fields and they proved themselves as a generation of responsibility.

In conclusion, contemporary Chinese youth is a generation of innovation and responsibility. Innovation is like the main engine of the ocean liner. Without it, there would only be a paralyzed shell. Innovation has always been an important driving force for social progress. Furthermore, only when the one dares to accept accountability can the one be worthy of great responsibility. So it is obvious that contemporary Chinese youth is a generation of prospect and China's future will definitely get better and better in the hands of this generation.
